The US Embassy in Armenia has called on its citizens not to visit Armenia's border with Azerbaijan's Lachin and Kalbajar regions (Western Zangazur), APA reports quoting armeniasputnik.am.
The Embassy called on US citizens not to visit Karaunj-David-Bek and Gafan-Chakaten checkpoints due to the tightening of control at the Azerbaijani border checkpoints.
It was noted that there are reports of tightening control at Azerbaijani customs posts on the M2 and M17 highways: "It is forbidden for embassy staff and family members to drive on these highways without a very serious need."
The embassy called on US citizens to stay away from the territories on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
