Turkish President: 'Cooperation in the context of the Middle Corridor serves our common interests'

Cooperation in the context of the Middle Corridor, which has stood out as a reliable transport route, serves our common interests. We completed an essential part of the corridor with the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, the President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said at the First Trilateral Summit of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, and Turkmenistan, Report informs.

"We ensured the entire transport route along the East-West direction by commissioning the Marmaray Tunnel, the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, Istanbul Airport, Osman Gazi, and the 1915 Canakkale Bridges. To make this route more favorable, we must work together and speed up border-crossing and customs procedures," the head of state said.

Erdogan noted that canceling land transit fees and visas for the carriers of all three countries, or keeping them at a certain level, and extending visa periods by reducing visa fees will increase the trade turnover: "The documents to be signed in the field of transport and customs will form the basis for our efforts."
