13 December 2022
"We are proud of our Azerbaijani brothers, as we have seen the construction of airports and highways and the implementation of real agricultural projects in the liberated territories in a short period," Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said at the meeting of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Report informs.
According to the minister, official Ankara has increased its investments in the field of transport and diplomatic efforts to revive the historical Silk Road and, as a result, has placed Turkiye and the Turkic World at the center of the East-West flow: "Our tripartite formats (together with Azerbaijan) with Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan continue to give tangible results. Tomorrow morning, we are going to Avaza with our energy and transport ministers to prepare for the tripartite summit with Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan. Our successes in the defense industry have not only increased our deterrence power but also opened up new areas for us in diplomacy."
The Foreign Minister said Azerbaijan's preparations during the armistice period brought Karabakh victory: "Immediately after the victory, Turkiye showed its support for peace and reconstruction efforts. The efforts we have made for the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) for years with a far-sighted policy are also bearing fruit. We witnessed historic steps at the Samarkand Summit held last month."
"The institutional, legal infrastructure of the Organization of Turkic States has been completed, and a five-year strategy paper, as well as documents related to simplified customs lines, unified freight transport, and trade facilitation, have been adopted. It was decided to gather under the umbrella of TURKPA, Turksoy, the Turkish Academy, and the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was accepted as an observer member of our organization. This achievement in our national work will strengthen our efforts for a two-state solution," the minister added.
