Russia is in an attempt to prepare new attacks, says Ukrainian President

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has addressed the South Korean Parliament as he continues in his appeal for international help, APA reports citing Sky News.

He said Russian forces had destroyed 938 educational establishments and almost 300 hospitals since the beginning of the war in Ukraine on 24 February.

Mr. Zelenskyy also said Kremlin troops had destroyed residential areas and cities "consciously" with their tanks and artillery.

"Now we have just ruins instead of what used to be normal peaceful cities. We can't even count the number of deaths," he said.

The Ukrainian leader said emergency teams in the north of the country were continuing to clear rubble after Russian bombardment but a section of the region was still an "active battle ground".

He went on to say the Russian forces had sent "thousands of soldiers" and "colossal numbers of equipment" to the country in an attempt to "prepare new attacks".

Addressing the dire situation in Mariupol, Mr. Zelenskyy said the besieged city had remained blocked since 1 March, with food convoys unable to enter.

"They tried to destroy it using the cruelest ways. They tried to destroy everything that the city had. Mariupol has been destroyed," he added.

"Tens of thousands of residents have died. Even despite that the Russians haven't stopped their attack."
