Azerbaijani state agency prepares proposal on preferential mortgage for medical workers

The Azerbaijani State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance has prepared a proposal to provide preferential mortgage loans to medical workers, Zaur Aliyev, board chairman of the agency, said at a press conference, dedicated to the agency’s activities in 2021 and in the first quarter of 2022, in Baku on May 2, Trend reports.

Aliyev noted that the proposed amendment to the "Procedure for providing a mortgage loan, including a preferential mortgage loan, at the expense of the Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund of Azerbaijan" is aimed at meeting the needs of health workers in housing and improving their living conditions.

According to the amendment, in order to be eligible for a preferential mortgage, a health worker who is a member of a young family must conduct medical activities in state medical institutions for at least three years, and a health worker who isn’t a member of a young family - for at least 15 years.

The proposal has already been submitted to the relevant government agencies. If the document is adopted, doctors, paramedical and junior medical personnel (except for the head of a medical institution) working in medical institutions under state bodies (structures) will be able to use preferential mortgages, Aliyev said.
