Azerbaijan and the UAE have discussed work to expand the energy sector in the country, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said at a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Azerbaijan Mohammed Al Blooshi, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Energy.

The meeting participants discussed projects of local and global importance implemented in Azerbaijan in the energy sector, including the development of the electric power industry and the expansion of the use of renewable energy sources.

The current cooperation with Masdar and TAQA companies and the status of implementation of current projects were considered. Cooperation in the field of green energy between the two countries was seen as a joint contribution to the energy transition.

An exchange of views also took place on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
