Turan: The new leader of the Karabakh separatists, Araik Harutyunyan, during his “inauguration” on May 21, announced that he wants to move the “parliament” to Shusha. Steps will be taken in this direction, he said, without specifying when.
“I hope that meetings of the National Assembly of the next convocation will already be held in Shushi. There is such a desire to move the National Assembly to Shushi. And we will take steps in this direction,”Armenian media quoted Harutyunyan as saying.
It should be noted that until May 1992, Shusha was the largest Azerbaijani-populated area of Nagorno-Karabakh. Before the Armenian occupation, about 20 thousand Azerbaijanis lived in the city, and all of them became refugees.
