US State Department Affirms Support for Progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan Talks

The US State Department has expressed its continued support for the progress made towards a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the past several months. Spokesperson Ned Price affirmed this support during a press briefing, stating that while the US is not being overly optimistic, it is committed to backing the ongoing dialogue and diplomacy towards a comprehensive solution. Price also noted the significant progress made between the two sides, which has resulted from bilateral and trilateral engagement with the US, as well as diplomatic efforts from the EU. The remarks come after last week's trilateral meeting between US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Munich, where the Secretary acknowledged the progress made in the negotiations. The US hopes to see the progress continue as the parties come together in Brussels for talks hosted by EU President Michel.
