The death toll from the earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6 has reached 44,218, according to the Turkish Emergency Situations Agency AFAD. In a statement released on the evening of February 24, AFAD reported that citizens in the provinces of Kahramanmarash, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Adana, Adiyaman, Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis, Malatya, and Elazig lost their lives in the disaster.

The region experienced three strong earthquakes and 9,000 aftershocks over a period of 19 days. In response, 528,146 people were evacuated from the disaster zone.ww
