Swedish Security Service uncovers active financial network for PKK/YPG in Sweden

The Swedish Security Service (SAPO) has disclosed that the terrorist organizations PKK/YPG has an active financial network in Sweden receiving substantial funds. "I will not reveal the figures, but I can say that the PKK terrorist organization provides significant financing for terrorism in our country," said Susanna Trehörning, the Deputy Head of Counter-Terrorism Department at SAPO, in an interview with Swedish state broadcaster SVT. SAPO is actively working to identify suspects involved in the network and has already arrested an individual collecting donations for the PKK/YPG at their workplace last week, Trehörning added. The revelation follows comments made by Oscar Stenström, Sweden's Chief Negotiator for NATO Membership, on January 29, who said that organized crime gangs finance the PKK, and unlike Finland, the PKK has more financial resources in Sweden.
