Rally in Khankyandi, disagreements between separatists and 10 tons of aid from Armenia
25 December 2022
On Sunday, 10 tons of humanitarian cargo arrived from Armenia to Karabakh through the Lachin corridor with the assistance of the Red Cross. The cargo included medicines, baby and other food for medical institutions. This was reported on the afternoon of December 25 by the Armenian media.
On the same day, the Red Cross took 4 foreign citizens out of Karabakh, the ICRC office in Yerevan reported, without specifying which country they were from.
These facts did not prevent the organizers of today's rally in Khankandi from asserting that 120,000 Armenians are cut off from the world and they are on the verge of starvation.
The rally was organized by the "state minister" Ruben Vardanyan, who addressed the residents of Karabakh in the morning, urging them to come to the central square of the city. He made a noteworthy remark that not all of his colleagues agree with holding the rally. He did not call the names, but all the leaders of the separatists were attended at the action, except the head of the “Security Council”, Vitaly Balasanyan.
Several thousand people took part in the action, bringing slogans in Armenian, French, English, Russian and Persian.
The speakers called on the world community to put pressure on Baku and not let the Armenians of Karabakh die. The speakers stated that they would not renounce independence and would not recognize the authority of Azerbaijan.
Ruben Vardanyan himself said that he is aware of the responsibility he has taken on and is ready to go to the end. He rejected Baku's demand to leave Karabakh and noted that the Armenians of Karabakh are ready to fight for independence and the international community supports this. He stressed that Armenians and Azerbaijanis cannot live together, because they are not compatible in their culture and mentality, and Baku must agree with that.
