Protesters brave freezing weather to mark 66th day of rally against illegal mining on Khankendi-Lachin road
Despite the frosty weather, the protests against the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan on the Khankandi-Lachin road continue for the 66th day, Report informs. The demonstration, which began on December 12, 2022, has continued through the night with the protesters being provided with warm shelter, hot drinks, and food.
Security measures have been followed strictly, and no incidents have been reported. The day began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan followed by patriotic songs, while eco-activists held up posters in Azerbaijani, Russian, and English and chanted slogans calling for an end to ecocide.
