NATO military drills start in Latvia

Latvian Armed Forces announced on Monday the start of joint military spring training with six NATO allies against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, APA reports citing Teletrader.
The exercises will last until May 27 and involve units from the United States, the United Kingdom, Czechia, Poland, Estonia and Lithuania.
The Latvian military stated the goal of the drills is "to improve the integration of national and allied forces for defense tasks, including practical training of Latvian and NATO command elements, providing support to the host country, conducting joint tactical field exercises with combat shooting and promoting cross-border cooperation."
