NATO concerned about lack of ammunition stockpiles

NATO's military planners have expressed concerns over having enough ammunition to stockpile along the alliance's eastern edge to counter any potential Russian aggression beyond Ukraine. To achieve this, the alliance must persuade its member countries to contribute various elements, including soldiers, training, better infrastructure, and most notably, expensive weapons, equipment, and ammunition. There is a risk that some NATO allies may not keep their promises to contribute to the alliance's new plans. Military leaders will submit updated regional defense plans this spring to redefine how NATO protects its 1 billion citizens. The officials have floated the idea of up to 300,000 NATO forces to help implement the new model, but the restocking process will take time.
