The Sabail district court of Baku city considered the petition of the prosecutor regarding the Minister of Finance of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Rafael Rza oglu Aliyev, in the ongoing criminal case at the State Security Service, APA reports.

By the decision of judge Ulviyya Shukurova dated 26.11.2022, Rafael Aliyev was sentenced to 4 months in prison.

Rafael Aliyev is accused of abusing his official powers and embezzling 144 million manats of state funds in various ways, which constitute a “particularly large amount.”
