MFA unveils number of Azerbaijani citizens evacuated from Ukraine

Due to the situation in Ukraine, Azerbaijani citizens in this country continue to cross from neighboring countries to the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Poland, the Slovak Republic, Hungary, as well as Romania, APA reports citing the Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Ministry told APA that visa requirements for transit of Azerbaijani citizens have been temporarily lifted on the basis of agreements reached with these countries, only travel documents are submitted by citizens, Covid-19 passport and negative PCR test are not required.

Since the beginning of military operations in Ukraine, 6,500 our citizens crossed to the Republic of Moldova, 770 citizens to the Republic of Poland, 318 citizens to Romania, 60 citizens to the Slovak Republic, and 48 citizens to Hungary by land from neighboring countries.

To date, 900 Azerbaijanis, especially women, children, and the elderly, have been evacuated to Azerbaijan by five charter flights from Romania. The evacuation of our citizens will be continued from the bordering states of Ukraine by charter flights and buses.
