Israeli rocket fire injures five Syrian soldiers in Homs

The Syrian state agency SANA has reported that five soldiers were injured in the city of Homs and its environs as a result of Israeli rocket fire. The attack occurred around 00:35 local time (GMT+3), with the Syrian air defenses reportedly shooting down some of the missiles.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the strikes targeted military installations in the area, including the Dabaa military airport. This marks the ninth such attack by Israel since the start of the year. The Israeli government has previously stated that these strikes aim to prevent Iran from using air supply lines to deliver weapons to its allies in Syria and Lebanon.

The Times of Israel reported that the Israeli leadership has carried out hundreds of sorties against Iranian-backed groups attempting to establish a presence in Syria. Just last week, the Syrian Defense Ministry announced that an Israeli missile attack caused "some material damage" in Damascus, with some missiles being intercepted by air defense systems.

No further details have been provided regarding the latest attack in Homs.
