Israeli President Isaac Herzog Meets with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Official Visit

Israeli President Isaac Herzog held talks with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in Jerusalem on Tuesday. The meeting was part of Bayramov's official visit to Israel, during which he also visited Palestine.

The President's office released a statement on Twitter saying that Herzog had congratulated Bayramov on the opening of Azerbaijan's embassy in Israel and the appointment of the first ambassador. In response, Bayramov expressed his pleasure at meeting the President and noted the satisfaction of both countries with the current level of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

"Azerbaijan and Israel are satisfied with the current level of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Thank you for the fruitful meeting and warm hospitality!" Bayramov said on his own Twitter page.

The visit comes as the two countries continue to strengthen ties, particularly in the areas of defense and energy. The two countries also share a common interest in countering Iran's influence in the region.

Bayramov's visit to Israel and Palestine began on March 28th and is expected to conclude in the coming days.
