Iraqi President Abdel Latif Jamal Rashid has completed his visit to Azerbaijan, where he attended the Non-Aligned Movement Contact Group on Combating COVID-19 summit in Baku. During the trip, Rashid met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev expressed Azerbaijan's commitment to developing relations with Arab countries and highlighted opportunities for cooperation in international organizations, including OPEC+. The leaders also discussed strengthening cooperation in investment, energy, construction, transport, education, and trade.

The Azerbaijani president also noted his country's humanitarian support to Non-Aligned Movement member states during the pandemic, including Iraq. Rashid accepted Aliyev's invitation to pay an official visit to Azerbaijan and extended a counter-invitation to visit Iraq.
