Health minister rules out restrictive steps over coronavirus
10 February 2022
"Today, there is no need to put in place any restrictive steps. However, the introduction of a strict quarantine mode may be associated with the course of the disease, the number of infection and the situation with hospitalization," Report informs, citing Health Minister Teymur Musayev.
He noted that now, in connection with the pandemic, 20% of the pool of beds is used, and as for intensive care, this figure is 10%.
“As a whole, the situation is satisfactory. We should bear in mind that those infected with Omicron tolerate the disease more easily. This applies to citizens who received two doses of the vaccine. As for the unvaccinated, the disease can cause serious consequences. Several people have already been placed in intensive care. People must accept reality as it is."
The minister recalled that after February 15, certificates of citizens who received two doses of the vaccine and who have passed 6 months of vaccination period will be considered invalid:
"Based on this, I urge every citizen to take a booster dose. Those who have been injected with both doses should take a booster dose to strengthen the immune system."
