Erdogan and Aliyev hold talks in Istanbul

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, held a closed-door meeting in Istanbul on Saturday. The leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, for which Aliyev expressed condolences and solidarity.

According to the press service of the Turkish President, the discussion also touched upon the prospect of further deepening cooperation between the two nations in areas such as politics, economics, trade, energy, military, and military-technical fields. The leaders also exchanged views on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the peace agenda.

Later that evening, Aliyev returned to Baku.
