Representatives from customs services of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Georgia, as well as several international organizations, held a multilateral meeting to discuss simplifying transit customs procedures along the Trans-Caspian International East-West Corridor. The meeting included a presentation of the Trans-Caspian Transit Portal, which would allow for the movement of goods and vehicles based on one declaration, the exchange of data electronically, and the use of pre-submitted customs transit declaration as a transit document. The portal is expected to increase efficiency in customs services and facilitate decision-making based on risk analysis.
