Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Holds Meeting with Commanders

On April 1, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, held an official meeting with the country's military leadership. Deputies of the Minister of Defense, Commanders of types of troops, Chiefs of Main Departments, Departments, and Services of the Ministry participated in the meeting. Commanders of the Army Corps and military formations joined in the meeting via video teleconference.

The meeting began with a minute of silence to honor the memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, Shehids (Martyrs), and victims of the March 31 genocide of Azerbaijanis. The Minister then delivered the tasks set by the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, to the Azerbaijan Army and thanked the military personnel involved in recent successful operations.

In response to criticism of the Azerbaijan Army's success, the Defense Minister emphasized that accusations of supporting terrorism and occupation are unacceptable and nonsense. He also analyzed the current operational situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional state border and in the Karabakh economic region, giving appropriate instructions to suppress possible provocations.

The Minister emphasized the importance of increasing the intensity of exercises and improving the methods of effective application of modern weapons and military equipment. He also reminded the importance of strict compliance with safety rules and necessary measures against fire.

Finally, the Defense Minister conveyed his recommendations to the command staff on increasing attention and care towards military personnel and gave additional instructions to continue work in improving service and combat conditions for personnel.

The meeting ended with specific instructions on the qualitative implementation of engineering support measures in the liberated territories and newly taken high grounds and positions under control.
