On May 31, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received US State Department Deputy Assistant Secretaries Laura Lochman, APA reports.

During the conversation, the activities of the Southern Gas Corridor were touched upon. The role of Azerbaijan in Europe's energy security and diversification of gas supplies was mentioned. The sides exchanged views on increasing gas exports from our country to Europe.

 

It was noted in the meeting that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the US successfully develop in the different fields, and the regular support of the US government to Azerbaijan in the implementation of global energy projects, as well as realization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan projects, has been highly evaluated. They talked about the large-scaled works implemented in the field of electricity and renewable energy in Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, the importance of the International Caspian Oil & Gas Exhibition traditionally held in Azerbaijan was mentioned, and noted that this event contributes to the expansion of international cooperation in the field of energy.
