Azerbaijani and Armenian representatives meet to discuss reintegration of Karabakh residents

Azerbaijani and Armenian representatives met on March 1 in the city of Khojaly, located in the Karabakh region where the headquarters of Russian peacekeepers is located. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the reintegration of Armenian residents in Karabakh into Azerbaijan.

Ramin Mammadov, the deputy of the Milli Majlis, has been appointed by Azerbaijani authorities to be responsible for contacts with the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, State Property Service, and "AzerGold" CJSC, who were previously not allowed by the Armenians to monitor gold mines in Karabakh.

The Armenian side indicated that the meeting focused on humanitarian and infrastructural issues such as the restoration of uninterrupted movement of people, vehicles, and cargo along the Lachin corridor, the restoration of electricity and gas supply to Karabakh from Armenia, and the operation of the Kashen mine (Gyzylbulag).

Luchine Avanesyan, a representative of the separatist leader, described the meeting as constructive with no other issues on the agenda. Both sides hope for positive results from the discussion.
