Azerbaijan has signed the Additional Protocol to the Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism. The protocol was signed at the Council of Europe headquarters in Strasbourg by Ambassador Fakhraddin Ismayilov, the permanent representative of Azerbaijan to the Council of Europe, and Bjørn Berge, the Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Following the completion of the internal ratification process, the Protocol will enter into force in relation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with its Article 10. This will serve as an additional contribution of Azerbaijan to international cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
