Azerbaijan highly appreciates the first official visit of Ilia Darchiashvili to Azerbaijan after his appointment as Foreign Minister of Georgia, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said on April 27 at a joint briefing with Darchiashvili in Baku, Trend reports.

According to Bayramov, the Azerbaijani side assesses the visit of the Georgian foreign minister to Baku as a clear example of a strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Azerbaijani diplomat noted that Azerbaijan and Georgia historically have strong friendly relations.

"Azerbaijan and Georgia are conducting a policy of good neighborliness and cooperation, and their relations are developing in many areas. Both countries support each other's territorial integrity," he stressed.
