Azerbaijan and Romania Discuss Transit of Green Energy through Black Sea

Discussions were held between Azerbaijan and Romania on the transit of green energy from Azerbaijan to Europe through the Black Sea during a meeting with the delegation led by Marian Neacsu, the Secretary General of the Government of Romania, at the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan. Deputy Minister of Energy, Samir Valiyev, highlighted the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania, emphasizing the broad energy agenda and the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of natural gas, electricity, and renewable energy. The meeting reviewed issues arising from the decisions taken at the first meeting between the ministers of the four countries, aimed at implementing the "Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary" signed in Bucharest in December of last year. Representatives from various Azerbaijani government agencies, including the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, the Energy Regulatory Agency, Azerenergy OJSC, and Azerishiq OJSC, also took part in the meeting, which highlighted the importance of developing cooperation in areas such as energy efficiency and regulation of energy issues.
