Armenia is most interested in opening communications in the region. Azerbaijan and Turkey do not need these roads more than Armenia, so they "try to increase the price of opening these roads", Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on Wednesday, speaking in parliament.

According to him, Armenia has only one land connection with Russia - Upper Lars, with insurmountable problems. “Therefore, the opening of communications in the region, in particular the opening of the Armenia-Azerbaijan railway and highway, will significantly increase our trade with the EAEU and not only with the EAEU,” Pashinyan said.

“We are most interested, because we have been in blockade for 30 years already, no one, neither Azerbaijan nor Turkey, needs these roads more than Armenia.” According to him, Turkey and Azerbaijan want to force Armenia to "implement what is not written in the tripartite statement of November 9", referring to the Zangezur corridor.

Pashinyan reiterated that he was ready to open the road "within the framework of Armenian legislation, even tomorrow."
