US State Department's senior adviser to visit South Caucasus region for Armenian-Azerbaijani peace talks

Louis Bono, the US State Department's senior adviser on negotiations in the Caucasus, is scheduled to visit the South Caucasus region between April 13-22 to meet with key stakeholders in support of the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace process. This visit is aimed at building on the momentum generated from the recent meeting between Secretary Blinken, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the President of Azerbaijan at the Munich Security Conference on February 18, the Secretary of State's telephone conversations with leaders in March, and Mr. Bono's trip to the region last month.

In response to questions from the Turan news agency, the US Embassy to Azerbaijan said that Mr. Bono's visit is an opportunity to encourage and support the recent productive efforts made by Armenia and Azerbaijan towards the peace process.

During his visit, Mr. Bono will emphasize the United States' commitment to promoting a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future for the South Caucasus region.
