Rashad Nabiyev calls for building society ready for cyberattacks

The digitalization taking place all over the world is posing a number of challenges to the Azerbaijani society, Report informs, citing Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev speaking at the presentation of the Association of Cyber Security Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTA) public association.

According to Nabiyev, in this regard, the ministry has identified several areas of its policy. "First, this is the creation of a society ready for cyberattacks. The second most important issue arising from this is the definition of the critical infrastructure itself. In various countries and societies, critical infrastructure can be defined in different ways.

“We, together with the State Security Service and other government agencies, are working to establish a critical infrastructure that will not only adversely affect the overall development of the country, but also ensure the protection of our national security, which is important for us. Also, regulatory mechanisms should be built in such a way that everyone wins."

The minister added that the preparation of a national cybersecurity strategy is nearing completion. "In the 44-day Patriotic War, we saw that along with threats in the real world, it is also important to prevent threats in the virtual world. I believe that the adoption of an information and cyber security strategy for 2022-2027 in the near future will give a new impetus to our work," the minister noted.
