MFA releases statement on results of meeting of EU, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) has released a statement on the results of the meeting of the European Union, Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders, the press service of the MFA told APA.
It has been noted in the statement that a meeting has been held between President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on April 6, 2022, with mediation and participation of the President of the European Council Charles Michel in Brussels.
President Charles Michel noted the desire of both President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nicole Pashkina to make rapid progress towards a peace agreement between the two countries. To this end, it was decided to instruct the foreign ministers to work on a future peace agreement covering all necessary issues.
Delimitation and demarcation of bilateral borders will be important; For this purpose, in accordance with the Sochi Declaration of November 26, 2021, it was agreed to establish a Joint Border Commission by the end of April.
The mandate of the Joint Border Commission will be to delimit the bilateral border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and to ensure a stable security situation along and near the borderline.
The leaders also discussed the restoration of communication/communication infrastructure, especially between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as in the South Caucasus as a whole. They agreed to monitor the results of their meetings and continue interaction
President Michel welcomed the steps taken to restore the railway lines and called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to find effective solutions for the restoration of roads.
