An urgent meeting of the Security Council was held in Karabakh on Sunday to address the installation of an Azerbaijani checkpoint at the entrance to the Lachin region. Following the meeting, a statement was released expressing disappointment and protest at Russia's alleged failure to comply with its commitments under the trilateral statement of November 9-10, 2020.

According to separatist leaders, Russia has not fulfilled its promises to guarantee the security of the people of Artsakh and prevent the installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan. The statement warned that the checkpoint's installation has made the people of Karabakh hostages of Azerbaijan and increased the risk of ethnic cleansing.

The separatists have appealed to Russia to resolve the issue by lifting the blockade, removing the checkpoint in Lachin, and addressing the security concerns of the Karabakh population. The situation remains tense, and the international community is closely monitoring developments in the region.
