The press service of the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported that on April 18, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu met with Azerbaijani presidential aide Anar Alekperov in Beijing to discuss bilateral relations. Ma Zhaoxu expressed China's readiness to work with Azerbaijan in implementing the agreements reached between the two heads of state at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Samarkand, and to further develop bilateral relations.

Alekperov, for his part, emphasized the importance of Azerbaijan's relations with China and expressed readiness to implement major initiatives, including promoting cooperation within the framework of the One Belt, One Road project. He also noted that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is ready to continue playing a positive role in this direction.

The meeting between the two officials highlights the ongoing efforts of Azerbaijan and China to strengthen their bilateral ties and explore new areas of cooperation.
