The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called for a fair and speedy investigation into the detention of two Azerbaijani servicemen, Agshin Babirov and Huseyn Akhundov, who were captured by the Armenian side after getting lost and finding themselves on Armenian territory. The ministry has emphasized the need for the trial to comply with international law.

In a statement, the ministry expressed hope that the competent authorities of Armenia will conduct a fair investigation into the circumstances of the case and treat the detainees in accordance with the norms of international law. The ministry also reiterated Russia's efforts to normalize relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, in accordance with tripartite agreements signed in November 2020, January and November 2021, and October 2022.
