Azerbaijani FM Bayramov and Acting Assistant US Secretary Hogan Discuss Cooperation and Peace Agenda

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Derek Hogan, Acting Assistant US Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, spoke by phone on Monday to discuss various issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States, as well as the current situation in the region, including the peace agenda between Yerevan and Baku, according to the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, Bayramov expressed his concerns over Armenia's continued military-political provocations, which he argued were undermining Azerbaijan's efforts for peace. He highlighted that Armenia has not yet withdrawn its armed forces from Azerbaijani territory and is obstructing the reintegration of Armenians in Karabakh, as well as opposing the establishment of a border checkpoint in Lachin.

Hogan acknowledged the importance of successfully completing the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia through negotiations, and establishing lasting peace and security in the region. He reiterated that the United States is ready to support the peace process.

The two officials also discussed other matters of mutual interest during their conversation.
