Azerbaijan Responds to Armenian Prime Minister's Allegations Regarding Checkpoints

Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has issued a statement in response to recent allegations made by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, regarding the establishment of checkpoints along the border.

The Ministry highlighted several actions taken by Armenia which, according to Azerbaijan, serve to escalate the situation and go against the terms of the Trilateral Statement following the 44-day Patriotic War. These actions include ongoing military provocations against Azerbaijan, the use of the Lachin road for illegal activities, and the transportation of weapons and mines. Azerbaijan also accused Armenia of not fully withdrawing its armed forces from Azerbaijani territory.

Regarding the establishment of checkpoints, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry rejected the notion that this would have a negative impact on the peace process, as claimed by Pashinyan. Instead, they argued that such a measure would be an effective way to prevent the illegal actions cited above.

The statement reflects the ongoing tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as both countries work to navigate the aftermath of the conflict and ensure stability in the region.
