APEGEA: Barley illegally exported from Azerbaijan
09 June 2022
Barley shortage occurred in Azerbaijan recently. The reason for it is the illegal exportation of the goods by several frauds to neighboring countries, especially Iran and Iraq, Azerbaijan Poultry, Egg Producers, and Exporters Association told APA-Economics.
Due to the ban on the export of barley in the form of grain, frauds cut it into small pieces and export it from Azerbaijan under the name "product of the processing industry.": “However, processing industry product is considered triple processed products. Currently, there are serious problems regarding fodder supply in poultry farms. Mass export of barley, which is a good of local production further sharpens the problems of local entrepreneurs. It is not ruled out that the same situation will occur regarding wheat, corn, and rye,” the information reads.
